Essential Gear to Pack for Your Adventure

Greetings fellow outdoor enthusiasts! Cowboy's Kayak here, geared up to bring you some crucial packing tips for your next adventure out on the water. So, whether you're an expert kayaker or just dipping your paddles in for the first time, this list of essentials will ensure you're fully prepared for your voyage.

**Appropriate Clothing:** Dress for the water, not the weather. Don’t forget to wear water shoes, sandals or sneakers, not flip-flops. No one wants to hoof it back to the car barefoot!

**A Spare Set of Dry Clothing:** Bring clothing with you so that you can change when you get back. Be prepared to get wet from head to toe if your kayak flips so you may wish to pack them into a dry-bag or leave them in the car.

**Sun Protection:** High SPF waterproof sunscreen, lip balm, and a cap or hat are a must to prevent sunburn. Polarized sunglasses can protect your eyes and enhance visibility on the water.

**First-Aid Kit:** Carry a small waterproof first-aid kit equipped with band-aids, antiseptic wipes, tweezers, medical tape, and any prescribed medication.

**Hydration and Food:** It's easy to get thirsty out in the sun, so carry enough water for your trip. Energizing snacks like granola bars, nuts, or fruit can also come in handy, especially when you have the kiddos with you.

**Dry Bag:** To keep your personal belongings dry, invest in quality dry bags. Keep your phone, spare clothing, shoes and anything else that can't swim in the bag and attach it to the kayak, if possible!

Remember, the rule-of-thumb when kayaking is to be well-prepared. Stay safe out there!

Happy Paddling,
